It’s a little-known fact that in the former German Democratic Republic, more than 10,000 boys and girls, from babies to seven-year-olds, are estimated to have been taken from their families and placed in harsh children’s homes or adopted by couples according to the communist ideology. According to Helga Labs, the GDR’s last Minister of Education, it was all for the good of the children. In this documentary, we hear their stories.
