In the middle of Europe lies the prison island of Gorgona. Off Italy’s coast, around a hundred serious criminals serve their sentences here. The convicted criminals spend their days behind thick prison walls at night and demanding work on the plantation during the day. The guards are unarmed but operate an efficient surveillance system of dynamic control. Those inmates who fail to parry are transferred back to one of the overcrowded detention centers on the mainland.
