Scientists suspect the planet Mars might have supported life at one point, Its landscape hints at possible existence of liquid water in the past. Another indicator is its temperature, which is not too cold nor too hot. Unlike other planets in our solar system, it has a reasonable distance to the sun, just like earth. This made the planet interesting when it came to searching for extraterrestrial life.
