A White House spokesman, John F. Kirby, said the military had not identified the source of the objects shot down over the weekend or their purpose. One was shot down on Friday over Alaska, another on Saturday over the Yukon Territory and a third over Michigan on Sunday.
The U.S. has shot down four objects over the U.S. and Canada in eight days. On February 4, a presumed Chinese spy balloon was shot down off the South Carolina coast. And on each of the last three days, another object has been shot down — the first object off the Alaska coast, the second over Yukon, Canada, and the third over Lake Huron. What exactly are these objects? Are they spy balloons or something else?
